MINT Wins International Design Award for Aurum

DNA Paris Design Awards 2025 – Landscape Design Category

We’re proud to announce that Aurum has been awarded a DNA Paris Design Award for 2025 in the Landscape Design category — an international honour that recognises outstanding work across architecture, interiors, landscape, and product design.

First unveiled at the 2023 Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show, Aurum is a project that continues to resonate, both locally and now globally.

Derived from the Latin word for gold, Aurum is a richly layered garden — an exploration of form, materials, texture, pattern and colour. Much like the modern Hollywood style, the design is unashamedly hedonistic and glamorous, yet remains grounded in nature.

Drawing on both modernist and art deco influences, Aurum reinterprets historical design philosophies through a contemporary lens. The result is a climate-conscious, people-centric space that places aesthetics at the forefront without compromising on function or environmental sensitivity.

The design avoids rigid zoning or hierarchy, instead flowing through a series of connected outdoor spaces intended for relaxed use and shared memory-making. Every detail, from plant choice to materiality, was considered to strike a balance between bold and delicate, man-made and organic.

“Like all art, Aurum is about balance — visual, spatial, emotional,” says Darin Bradbury, Director of Mint.

“To have it recognised on the international stage reinforces our belief that gardens can be both expressive and deeply liveable. This is a proud moment for our team and all those who brought the vision to life.”

The DNA Paris award follows a sweep of accolades at the 2023 Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show, where Aurum took home:

  • Gold in the Show Garden Competition

  • The Innovative Design Award

  • The Construction Award

  • The People’s Choice Award

In a landscape climate where architecture and nature are often treated as opposing forces, Aurum offers another way forward — one where the built and the botanical exist not just side by side, but in harmony.
